Main Ingredients

Smashed Red Potatoes

Method

Preparing the Sirloin

1

Season the Steak

Pat the USDA Choice Sirloin steaks dry with paper towels. Rub each steak with olive oil, and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

2

Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. When hot, add the sirloin steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Making Smashed Red Potatoes

3

Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, add the red potatoes and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

4

Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash the potatoes until smooth but still slightly chunky.

Cooking the Broccoli

5

Steam the Broccoli

In a steamer basket over boiling water, add fresh broccoli florets. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.

6

Season the Broccoli

Transfer the steamed broccoli to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt to taste.
