1. Soak the Black Beans
Rinse the black beans under cold water. Place them in a large bowl and cover with water. Let them soak overnight or for at least 8 hours.
2. Cook the Black Beans
Drain and rinse the soaked black beans. In a pot, combine the beans with 3 cups of fresh water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Let the beans simmer for about 1 hour or until they are tender. Check occasionally and add more water if necessary.
3. Sauté Aromatics
