Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over high heat. Season the ahi tuna steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until the outside is browned but the inside remains rare. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.

  2. 2

    Slice the Vegetables

While the tuna is resting, slice the cucumber into thin rounds and dice the avocado into cubes.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Salad

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed spring vegetables, seaweed salad, sliced cucumber, and diced avocado. Toss gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Crispy Wontons

Just before serving, sprinkle the crispy wonton strips over the salad mixture.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame seeds. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Slice the Tuna

Once the tuna has rested, slice it thinly against the grain.

  2. 7

    Serve

Plate the salad mixture and top with the sliced ahi tuna. Drizzle the dressing over the top and serve immediately.
