Prepare the Edamame
Rinse the edamame pods under cool running water to remove any dirt or debris.

Boil Water
In a large pot, fill with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

Cook the Edamame
Once the water is boiling, add the edamame pods. Cook for 5-6 minutes until the pods are tender and bright green.

Drain the Edamame
Carefully drain the edamame in a colander and let them sit for a minute to allow excess water to drain off.

Season the Edamame
Transfer the drained edamame to a serving bowl. Sprinkle salt or Cajun seasoning over the edamame to taste. Toss to coat evenly.

Serve
Serve the edamame warm. To eat, simply pop the beans out of the pods with your mouth or fingers.
