Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

Rinse the edamame pods under cool running water to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, fill with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Cook the Edamame

Once the water is boiling, add the edamame pods. Cook for 5-6 minutes until the pods are tender and bright green.

Seasoning

  1. 4

    Drain the Edamame

Carefully drain the edamame in a colander and let them sit for a minute to allow excess water to drain off.

  2. 5

    Season the Edamame

Transfer the drained edamame to a serving bowl. Sprinkle salt or Cajun seasoning over the edamame to taste. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the edamame warm. To eat, simply pop the beans out of the pods with your mouth or fingers.
