Marinating the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add to the marinade. Ensure the beef is well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef strips in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the beef is cooked through and caramelized. Remove from heat.

On a clean surface, lay out the iceberg lettuce leaves. Place a few strips of the cooked bulgogi beef in the center of each leaf.
