Beef Brisket
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Trim excess fat from the beef brisket, leaving about 1/4 inch of fat for flavor.
- 2
Make the Rub
In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create a spice rub.
- 3
Season the Brisket
Rub the spice mixture generously over the entire surface of the brisket.
- 4
Marinate
Place the brisket in a large zip-top bag or container. Pour Worcestershire sauce and apple cider vinegar over it. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 5
Preheat the Smoker
Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- 6
Smoke the Brisket
Place the marinated brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and smoke for about 1.5 hours per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- 7
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- 8
Serve
Carve the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
