Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ham
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the smoked ham on a rack in a roasting pan.
- 2
Score the Surface
Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. This helps the glaze penetrate.
- 3
Add Cloves
Insert whole cloves into the intersections of the diamond cuts.
- 4
Mix the Glaze
In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- 5
Glaze the Ham
Brush half of the glaze all over the ham, ensuring it gets into the scored areas.
- 6
Bake the Ham
Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, basting with the remaining glaze every 30 minutes.
- 7
Finish and Serve
Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of baking to allow the glaze to caramelize. Once done, let the ham rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
