Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Rub the pork shoulder with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- 2
Sear the Pork
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned, about 5-7 minutes per side.
- 3
Add Liquid
Once seared, place the pork in a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider vinegar and chicken broth over the pork.
- 4
Cook the Pork
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 5
Shred the Pork
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to pull apart the meat into shreds.
- 6
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on its own, or as a filling for sandwiches, tacos, or salads.
