In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and chop into small pieces, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

Add the soaked beans, water, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to the pot. Stir well.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for about 1 hour until the beans are tender.
