Ribs and Rub

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Make the Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and smoked paprika to create the rub.

  3. 3

    Apply the Rub

Generously apply the rub all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Wrap and Cook

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.

  5. 5

    Finish on the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Carefully unwrap the ribs from the foil and place them on the grill. Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, basting with your favorite BBQ sauce, until caramelized.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill, let them rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
