For the Biscuit-Style French Toast and Fried Chicken
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Buttermilk Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, dip in the egg wash, and then coat with the biscuit mix. Set aside.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Make the French Toast
In a bowl, whisk together the remaining buttermilk, eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Dip slices of biscuit dough in the mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 6
- 7
Serve
Place the biscuit-style French toast on a plate, top with the fried chicken, and drizzle Mike’s Hot Honey over the top. Enjoy!
