Onion Rings Ingredients
Method
Onion Rings Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk together. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until just combined.
- 3
Coat the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Then, coat them in breadcrumbs.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully place the coated onion rings in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the onion rings hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
