Cheese Dip

Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips

Method

Cheese Dip Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese. Mix until the cheeses are well blended and smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Remaining Ingredients

To the cheese mixture, add the sour cream, salsa, diced jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Heat the Dip

Transfer the cheese dip mixture to a slow cooker or a baking dish. If using a slow cooker, set it on low heat and let it warm for about 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. If using an oven, preheat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly.

Crispy Corn Tortilla Chips Preparation

  1. 4

    Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles, creating 6-8 pieces from each tortilla.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 6

    Fry the Chips

Working in batches, carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil. Fry for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Chips

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
