Base Ingredients

Sweetener (Optional)

Flavoring (Optional)

Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 16 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep the Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove the pot from heat and add 8 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 10-15 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the pot, ensuring to squeeze out any excess liquid back into the pot.

Sweetening the Tea

  1. 4

    Add Sweetener

If desired, add 1 cup of granulated sugar or 0.5 cup of honey to the hot tea. Stir well until fully dissolved.

Flavoring the Tea

  1. 5

    Add Flavorings

For added flavor, stir in 0.5 cup of fresh lemon juice and/or 1 cup of mint leaves into the brewed tea.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 6

    Cool the Tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the tea over ice in a glass. Optionally garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves.
