Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  2. 2

    Process Until Smooth

Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

  3. 3

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and add more salt or lemon juice if necessary. Blend again to mix.

  4. 4

    Serve

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil if desired.

Tzatziki Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Cucumber

Grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towel.

  2. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil.

  3. 7

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined.

  4. 8

    Chill

Cover and refrigerate the tzatziki for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Prepare the Plate

Arrange the hummus and tzatziki in separate bowls on a serving platter.

  2. 10

    Add Crackers

Place the whole grain crackers around the bowls of hummus and tzatziki.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve the hummus and tzatziki plate with crackers as a delightful appetizer or snack.
