Cake Preparation

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Then slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.

Bake the Cake
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the Cakes
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Whipped Cream Preparation

Prepare Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.

Whip Cream
Using an electric mixer, whip the mixture on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
Assembly

Assemble the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top.

Add Second Layer
Place the second cake layer on top and spread whipped cream over the top and sides of the cake.

Serve
Slice the cake and serve with a dollop of whipped cream on each slice.
