Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form into 4 equal patties, making a small indent in the center of each to prevent puffing up during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer lettuce, the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and red onion. Drizzle ketchup and mustard to taste. Place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.

Unique Sides Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into wedges.

  2. 6

    Season the Wedges

In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.

  3. 7

    Bake the Wedges

Spread the wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

  4. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the sweet potato wedges from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving alongside the burgers.
