Burger and Toppings

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Cook the Burgers

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Mushroom Gravy

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they're soft and browned, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Make the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms, stirring well. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Prepare Swiss Cheese Sauce

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the milk and shredded Swiss cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. If too thick, add a little more milk to reach desired consistency.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Place a cooked burger patty on each bun. Spoon the mushroom gravy over the patty, then drizzle with the Swiss cheese sauce. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
