Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Shrimp
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes. Add the shrimp and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine cornstarch with a few tablespoons of water to create a slurry. This will help thicken the sauce later.
- 3
Cook the Shrimp
In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp (reserve the marinade) and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Add Sauce and Finish
Add the reserved marinade and the cornstarch slurry to the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Add sesame oil and chopped green onions, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 5
Serve
Serve the Mongolian shrimp hot over rice or noodles, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
