Method

Cook Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguini

Add the linguini pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside. Reserve a little pasta water if desired.

Prepare Shrimp

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 5

    Cook Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet, along with red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until shrimp are pink and opaque.

  3. 6

    Add Lemon Juice

Pour in lemon juice and chopped parsley. Stir to combine and remove shrimp from skillet. Set aside.

Make Butter Sauce

  1. 7

    Add Butter and Wine

In the same skillet used for the shrimp, add unsalted butter and white wine. Cook over medium heat until the butter is melted and the sauce is slightly reduced, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 8

    Season Sauce

Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 9

    Combine Pasta and Shrimp

Add the cooked linguini to the skillet, tossing to coat in the butter sauce. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss gently to combine.

Serve

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Serve the shrimp scampi immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
