Pancake Batter

Method

Making the Pancake Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Preheat the Griddle

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

Pour Batter for Mickey Mouse Shape

Pour a large circle of batter onto the griddle for the head (about 4 inches in diameter). Then pour two smaller circles (about 2 inches in diameter) for the ears.

  3. 6

    Add Chocolate Chips

While the batter is still wet, sprinkle chocolate chips over the pancake, especially on the face area.

  4. 7

    Cook the Pancakes

Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  5. 8

    Repeat

Remove the pancakes from the griddle and repeat the process with the remaining batter.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Pancakes

Stack the pancakes on a plate to form the Mickey Mouse face, with the larger pancake as the head and the smaller pancakes as ears.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Top the pancakes with whipped cream, additional chocolate chips, and fresh berries if desired.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your delightful Mickey Mouse Pancakes!
