Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Lasagna Noodles

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make Ricotta Cheese Mixture

In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

  3. 3

    Prepare Meat Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until onion is translucent. Stir in tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Layer Ingredients

In a large baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place a layer of cooked lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers until ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.

  2. 5

    Add Cheese Topping

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer of meat sauce.

Baking

  1. 6

    Bake the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
