Cake Base

Method

Cake Base

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cakes

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cakes

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting

  1. 8

    Prepare the Frosting

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well.

  2. 9

    Add Cream and Vanilla

Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract to the mixture. Beat until the frosting is light and fluffy. If desired, add food coloring to achieve your desired shade.

Layer Assembly

  1. 10

    Layer the Cakes

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of jam on top, followed by a layer of fresh fruit.

  2. 11

    Frost the First Layer

Spread a generous amount of frosting over the fruit layer.

  3. 12

    Repeat Layers

Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the process: jam, fruit, and frosting.

  4. 13

    Final Frosting

Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake. Decorate as desired.

  5. 14

    Serve

Slice and serve your layered cake. Enjoy!
