Method

Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until well blended.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips gently into the batter.

Cooking Pancakes

  1. 5

    Preheat Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.

  2. 6

    Pour Batter

Using a ladle or measuring cup, pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake.

  3. 7

    Cook Pancakes

Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 8

    Repeat Cooking

Repeat with the remaining batter, adjusting the heat as necessary.

Cook Protein

  1. 9

    Cook the Meat

In the same skillet, cook the bacon, sausage, or ham according to package instructions until crispy and cooked through.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate and Serve

Stack the pancakes on a plate, add a few extra chocolate chips on top if desired, and serve with the cooked meat on the side.
