In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined.

Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.
Churning the Ice Cream

Prepare the Ice Cream Maker
If using an ice cream maker, make sure to freeze the bowl according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled ice cream base into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually around 20-25 minutes.
Adding Flavors

Incorporate Optional Flavorings
During the last 5 minutes of churning, you can add any optional flavorings like cocoa powder, chopped fruits, or chocolate chips to the mixture. This is the time to get creative!
Freezing the Ice Cream

Once the ice cream has reached a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container.
