Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Raisin Sauce

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the raisins, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and water.

  2. 2

    Simmer Sauce

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the raisins are plump and the sauce has thickened slightly.

  3. 3

    Blend Sauce

Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Use an immersion blender or transfer to a blender to puree until smooth. Set aside.

Cooking the Ham Steak

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Prepare Ham Steak

Place the ham steak in a baking dish. Pour the prepared raisin sauce over the ham steak, ensuring it's well coated.

  3. 6

    Bake Ham Steak

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.

  4. 7

    Finish and Serve

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the ham steak is heated through and slightly caramelized on top. Serve hot with extra raisin sauce on the side.
