Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salad Base

Wash and chop the Romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Halve the cherry tomatoes, slice the red onion thinly, and dice the cucumber. In a large bowl, combine all the salad base ingredients.

Burger Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Beef

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground Black Angus beef. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate pan, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

  3. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Once the beef is cooked, sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top and cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt for about 2 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Salad

On a large serving plate or bowl, layer the salad base with the cooked beef and melted cheese mixture. Top with crumbled bacon. Drizzle with Thousand Island dressing.

  2. 6

    Serve

Toss gently to combine the ingredients if desired, and serve immediately.
