Brewing Instructions

- 2
Sparging
After the mash, sparge the grains by pouring an additional 170°F (77°C) water over the grains in the mash tun to rinse out the sugars. Collect the liquid in a separate kettle, which is now known as wort.
- 3
Boiling the Wort
Bring the wort to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 2 oz of Cascade hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding additional hops at the 30-minute mark if desired for more bitterness.
- 4
Cooling the Wort
After the boil, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 70°F (21°C).
- 5
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Sprinkle the packet of American Ale yeast on top. Seal the vessel and let it ferment in a cool, dark place for about 1-2 weeks.
- 6
Bottling
Once fermentation is complete, dissolve 3 oz of priming sugar in 2 cups of water to create a priming solution. Add this solution to your beer in the bottling bucket, gently mixing to avoid oxidation. Fill sanitized bottles, leaving a little headspace at the top, and cap them.
- 7
Carbonation
Let the bottled beer carbonate at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks. After this time, refrigerate the bottles for at least 24 hours before consuming.
