Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steaks with salt and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the ribeye steaks. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips. Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain and pat dry the soaked potatoes. Fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch.

  3. 6

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt immediately.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley and lemon juice, and remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Slice the ribeye steak against the grain and serve it on a plate alongside the crispy fries. Drizzle the garlic butter over the steak and serve immediately.
