Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the sirloin steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil on both sides. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over the steak, pressing gently to adhere the spices.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Broiler

Set your oven's broiler to high and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Broil the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on a broiler pan and position it in the oven about 4-6 inches from the heat source. Broil for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and broil for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the oven and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Dinner Roll Preparation

  1. 6

    Warm the Rolls

If desired, warm the dinner rolls in the oven for the last 5 minutes of the steak's cooking time, wrapped in aluminum foil to keep them soft.

  2. 7

    Add Butter

Once warm, spread butter on the dinner rolls before serving alongside the broiled steak.
