Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, roll the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place the rolled meatballs on a lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Chill Meatballs

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the meatballs hold their shape.

Cooking Meatballs

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 5

    Bake Meatballs

Remove the meatballs from the refrigerator. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they are cooked through and browned.

Sauce Preparation (Optional)

  1. 6

    Prepare BBQ Sauce

If making BBQ meatballs, brush or toss the baked meatballs in BBQ sauce before serving.

  2. 7

    Prepare Swedish Sauce

For Swedish meatballs, in a saucepan, combine beef broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, cornstarch, and water. Bring to a simmer, stirring until the sauce thickens. Pour over the cooked meatballs before serving.

  3. 8

    Prepare Italian Sauce

For Italian meatballs, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan and pour it over the cooked meatballs before serving.
