Method
Preparation of Chicken Strips
- 1
Prepare Chicken
Cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into strips, roughly 1 inch wide.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a shallow bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each chicken strip first into the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure each strip is well coated.
Frying Chicken Strips
- 4
Heat Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry Chicken Strips
Carefully add the breaded chicken strips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Drain Excess Oil
Once cooked, remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Dipping Sauces
Arrange the crispy chicken strips on a serving platter and serve with your choice of ranch dressing, brown sugar BBQ sauce, or jammin' BBQ sauce.
