Potatoes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Cut the Potatoes

Thoroughly wash the russet potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Cut each potato into thick waffle shapes using a waffle cutter or a knife.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potato Waffles

Soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and will make the fries crispier.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

  2. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to remove excess moisture.

  3. 5

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, combine the dried potato waffles with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all the fries are evenly coated.

  4. 6

    Bake the Waffle Fries

Spread the seasoned potato waffles in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.

  5. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let the fries cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
