Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.
- 2
Add Water and Oil
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the water and vegetable oil. Mix with a spoon until a soft dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Frying
- 4
Prepare Oil for Frying
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Roll Out the Dough
After resting, take small portions of the dough and roll them out into thin circles, about 1/8 inch thick.
- 6
Fry the Dough Circles
Carefully place a few dough circles in the hot oil, frying them for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove them and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 7
Mix Cinnamon Sugar
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together until well combined.
- 8
Honey Drizzle
- 9
Prepare Honey Drizzle
In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the honey until it becomes slightly more liquid. This will make it easier to drizzle.
