Pork Preparation
- 1
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture thoroughly over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 2
Prepare the Cooking Environment
In a large slow cooker, add apple cider vinegar and water. Place the seasoned pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, carefully remove the pork shoulder from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board. Use two forks to shred the pork into bite-sized pieces.
Serving
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Place a generous portion of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun. Top with coleslaw and drizzle with BBQ sauce.
- 6
