Method

Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper until well combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a quarter-pound patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Cheese

  1. 3

    Add the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking the patties, place one slice each of pepperjack and cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet or grill to help the cheese melt.

Bacon

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate pan, cook the applewood bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Egg

  1. 5

    Fry the Eggs

In the same pan used for the bacon, crack the eggs and fry to your liking (sunny-side up or over-easy works great).

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Smash

On each burger bun, spread a generous amount of mango habanero sauce. Place a cheesy beef patty on the bottom bun, followed by two slices of crispy bacon, and top with a fried egg. Cap with the top bun.
