Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Shape the Beef

In a large bowl, take the 4 lb of Certified Black Angus beef and gently shape it into one large patty, about 1 inch thick. Be careful not to overwork the meat to keep it tender.

  2. 2

    Season the Patty

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over both sides of the beef patty. This will enhance the flavor of the burger.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat. Ensure it’s hot enough to create a nice sear on the patty.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Place the beef patty on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patty and continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes on the other side for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If using, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the patty during the last minute of cooking. Close the grill lid or cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patty is cooking, cut the burger buns in half. You can toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce followed by a slice of tomato. Then, place the cooked burger patty on top.

  3. 8

    Add Condiments

Add ketchup and mustard to the top half of the bun according to your taste.

  4. 9

    Complete the Burger

Place the top half of the bun on the burger and press down gently. Your Kid Burger is ready to serve!
