Method
Preparing the Brisket
- 1
Season the Brisket
Rub the brisket with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Ensure that the seasoning is evenly distributed over the entire surface.
- 2
Prepare the Smoker
Soak wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C) and add the soaked wood chips.
- 3
Smoke the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in the smoker. Smoke for approximately 1.5 hours per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C) for tender slices.
- 4
Wrap and Rest
When the brisket is done, wrap it in foil and let it rest for at least 30 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
