Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Simple Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled simple syrup, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir until well mixed.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.

  4. 4

    Churn the Sorbet

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  5. 5

    Freeze the Sorbet

Transfer the churned sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

  6. 6

    Serve

Scoop the sorbet into bowls or glasses and serve immediately, garnished with lemon slices or mint leaves if desired.
