Make the Simple Syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled simple syrup, limoncello, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir until well mixed.

Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly chilled.

Churn the Sorbet
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Transfer the churned sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
