Dumpling Filling
Method
Dumpling Preparation
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork (or chicken), finely chopped cabbage, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and chopped green onions. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Assemble the Dumplings
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges together to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
Cooking the Dumplings
You can either steam or pan-fry the dumplings. For steaming, place them in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for about 10-12 minutes. For pan-frying, heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet, place the dumplings in the skillet, add a splash of water, cover, and cook until they are golden brown on the bottom and cooked through.
