Preparation and Cooking
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the Ingredients
Add the all-purpose flour, salt, and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix together the black sesame paste, crushed peanuts, and coconut oil until well combined.
Shape the Buns
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten it into a disc. Place a spoonful of the black sesame filling in the center and pinch the edges to seal the bun.
Steam the Buns
Place the buns on parchment paper in a steamer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
Serve
Remove the buns from the steamer and serve warm. Enjoy your black sesame buns!
