Method

Preparation of Lemongrass

1

Prepare Lemongrass

Take the fresh lemongrass stalks and cut off the tough ends. Smash the stalks with the back of a knife to release the essential oils.

Brewing the Tea

2

Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

3

Add Lemongrass

Once the water is boiling, add the prepared lemongrass stalks to the pot.

4

Steep

Reduce the heat and let the lemongrass steep in the water for about 10-15 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.

Finishing Touches

5

Strain and Sweeten

After steeping, strain the tea into a teapot or pitcher. Add honey or sugar to taste, and stir until dissolved.

6

Add Lemon Juice

Stir in the lemon juice for a hint of citrus flavor.

7

Serve

Serve hot as is, or let it cool and serve over ice with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing iced tea.
