Method

Preparing the Tea

1

Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.

2

Add Tea Leaves

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves to the pot. Stir gently.

Infusing the Flavors

3

Add Spices

Add the ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom, whole cloves, and whole black peppercorns to the boiling tea. Stir to combine.

4

Simmer

Reduce the heat and let the tea simmer for about 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

Finalizing the Tea

5

Strain the Tea

After simmering, remove the pot from heat. Strain the tea into a teapot or directly into cups using a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices.

6

Add Milk

Pour 1 cup of milk (or oat milk) into the strained tea. Stir well.

7

Sweeten

Add sugar to taste, stirring until fully dissolved.

8

Serve

Serve the African tea hot, and enjoy its rich and spiced flavor!
