Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Ginger

Peel the fresh ginger root and slice it into thin pieces or grate it for a stronger flavor.

2

Boil the Water

In a medium-sized pot, add 4 cups of water and bring it to a rolling boil.

3

Add Ginger and Optional Ingredients

Once the water is boiling, add the sliced or grated ginger. If using, add the cinnamon stick and cloves to the pot.

Brewing

4

Simmer the Mixture

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This allows the flavors to infuse and the tea to become aromatic.

5

Strain the Tea

After simmering, turn off the heat and strain the tea into a teapot or individual cups, discarding the ginger pieces and any optional spices.

Serving

6

Add Sweeteners and Serve

Stir in honey and lemon juice to taste. Optionally, garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
