Preparation

1

Prepare Ingredients

Gather all ingredients. If using whole ginger, peel and slice it into thin pieces.

2

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Brewing the Tea

3

Add Hibiscus and Spices

Once the water is boiling, add the dried hibiscus flowers, cinnamon stick, cloves, and sliced ginger to the pot.

4

Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Finishing Touches

5

Strain the Tea

After simmering, remove the pot from heat and strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into a teapot or serving pitcher, discarding the solids.

6

Sweeten and Serve

Stir in honey and lemon juice to taste. Serve hot in cups, garnished with additional lemon slices if desired.
