Method

Preparing the Tea

1

Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

2

Add Hibiscus and Spices

Once the water is boiling, add the dried hibiscus petals, dried orange peel, cinnamon stick, cloves, and sliced ginger to the pot.

3

Steep the Mixture

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture steep for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

4

Strain the Tea

After steeping, remove the pot from heat and strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, discarding the solids.

Sweetening the Tea

5

Add Sweeteners

To the strained hibiscus tea, add honey, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well until the sweeteners are fully dissolved.

6

Cool or Serve Warm

You can serve the tea warm or let it cool to room temperature and refrigerate it for a chilled beverage.

7

Garnish and Enjoy

Serve the tea over ice with additional lemon slices or fresh mint leaves for garnish, if desired.
