Cook the Rice
Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool. It's best to use day-old rice for fried rice.

Scramble the Eggs
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and scramble until fully cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Add Peas and Rice
Stir in the green peas and cooled jasmine rice. Break up any clumps of rice with a spatula. Mix well to combine.

Season the Rice
Add the soy sauce and oyster sauce to the rice mixture. Stir well to ensure that the rice is evenly coated with the sauces. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Remove from heat and serve the basil fried rice warm. You can garnish with additional basil leaves if desired.
