1. Prep the Ginger
Peel and finely grate the fresh ginger root.
2. Make Ginger Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine the grated ginger, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to cool.
3. Combine Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the cooled ginger syrup, fresh lime juice, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well.
4. Serve
