Tom Yum Soup

Method

Preparation of Thai Iced Tea or Coffee

    Brew the Tea or Coffee

    Boil water and steep black tea leaves or coffee grounds for about 5 minutes.

    Add Sweetener

    Stir in sugar until dissolved.

    Serve

    Fill a glass with ice, pour the brewed tea or coffee over the ice, and add evaporated milk or coconut milk.

Preparation of the Entree

    Sauté Ingredients

    Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken or tofu, and cook until browned.

    Add Vegetables and Sauce

    Add vegetables, soy sauce, and chili paste. Stir-fry for another 5-7 minutes until veggies are tender.

    Garnish

    Add Thai basil or cilantro. Mix well and remove from heat.

Preparation of Tom Yum Soup

    Prepare Broth

    In a pot, combine chicken or vegetable broth, lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves. Bring to a boil.

    Add Mushrooms and Shrimp or Tofu

    Add mushrooms and shrimp or tofu to the boiling broth. Cook until shrimp is pink or tofu is heated through.

    Season and Serve

    Stir in fish sauce and lime juice. Remove from heat and serve hot.
