Coffee Base

Method

Preparing the Coffee Base

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Start by brewing 2 cups of your favorite coffee using a coffee maker or French press. Ensure that the coffee is strong and hot.

  2. 2

    Mix in Tequila and Syrup

Once the coffee is brewed, pour it into a large mug or heatproof glass. Add 1 oz of tequila and 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate syrup to the hot coffee.

  3. 3

    Add Orange Bitters

Add 2 dashes of orange bitters to the mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.

  4. 4

    Sweeten to Taste

If you prefer your coffee sweet, add sugar to taste and stir until dissolved.

Garnishing the Coffee

  1. 5

    Top with Whipped Cream

Using a spoon or a piping bag, add 1 cup of whipped cream on top of the coffee mixture.

  2. 6

    Add Orange Zest

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of orange zest over the whipped cream for a fresh citrus aroma.

  3. 7

    Finish with Chocolate Shavings

Finally, garnish your Mexican coffee with 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate shavings on top of the whipped cream.
